陆俏颖，北京大学哲学系助理教授，2020-2021北大博古睿学者，从事有关生物学哲学和一般科学哲学的研究，主要工作包括延展基因中心论的理论奠基以及运用结构因果模型分析基因的因果性，她也对自然选择的单位，拉马克主义的复兴、基因编辑等话题有所探讨。其成果已发表于国内外重要期刊。

讲座摘要

This paper argues that Woodward’s definition of causal specificity (INF) fails to clearly separate two dimensions of causal specificity: range of influence and one-to-one specificity. We begin by demonstrating that differentiating these two dimensions helps explain various biological phenomena. Additionally, we introduce a new formalism for one-to-one specificity, drawing on Pearl’s quantitative notions of the probability of sufficiency and the probability of necessity. Building on Lewis’ concept of influence, we further identify a third dimension of specificity, which we term “fine-grained causal control.” This dimension captures scenarios where minor changes in a cause produce correspondingly small changes in its effect. By distinguishing these three dimensions, we aim to clarify the role of specificity in causal selection more effectively.
