Over the past two decades, Situationism has attracted significant attention from virtue ethicists and moral psychologists alike. Advocates of Situationism claim that human behavior is profoundly shaped, if not entirely determined, by seemingly inconsequential situational factors, often unbeknownst to individuals themselves. This view poses serious challenges to traditional virtue ethics. This talk will examine certain objections to Situationism and its corresponding responses, while also proposing new concerns yet to be fully addressed in the ongoing debate.
