题目:Could we be brains in a vat? On Putnam and Ockham

时间:2023.10.23   19:00—21:00

地点:李兆基人文学苑3号楼109室

讲座简介

Putnam famously argued that we cannot be brains in a vat. I do not quite find his arguments convincing. Ockham argued against the assumption of "species," thinking that they would make direct perception impossible. I will show that Putnam's and Ockham's arguments are similar in a number of important respects.
